Rules and MURPHY capture late-night emotion on ‘Feeling Hold On You’
Rules release the new single ‘Feeling (Hold On You)’ out now via Counter Records, teaming up with vocalist and best friend MURPHY.
‘Feeling (Hold On You)’ blends house music influences with Rules’ warm and ethereal sound, pairing dance floor-ready rhythms with emotionally driven, euphoric soundscapes. The production balances uplift and restraint, framing MURPHY’s vocal performance within a late-night electronic atmosphere designed for both club settings and crossover radio play. The track centers on moments that feel expansive yet fleeting, capturing a tension between happiness and vulnerability while maintaining a steady pulse built for movement.
Speaking on the new single, Rules says:
“This track is built around a very specific feeling – those moments with friends that feel endless: sun going down, drinks in hand, driving around with the windows down and the music taking over. There’s a happiness to it, but also an underlying emotion, like you already know it won’t last forever. Writing it with Murphy in his attic at 2am gave it that same energy – honest, nostalgic, and slightly vulnerable. Lyrically, it’s about being caught in something you can’t quite leave, even when you know you probably should. I wanted the production to feel like a memory you can dance to.”
‘Feeling (Hold On You)’ is out now and available to stream on all major platforms.
