Aaron Wylder lets go with reflective new single ‘Rolling Tide’

Aaron Wylder releases his new single ‘Rolling Tide’ today, February 6, 2026, via Take Aim Media, marking the latest release from the Montreal-based indie/folk artist and offering an early look at his forthcoming album Brand New TV, due May 1, 2026.
‘Rolling Tide’ is rooted in Wylder’s indie folk foundation while expanding toward a fuller, more expansive sound. Inspired by his Caribbean upbringing, the song employs the ocean as a metaphor for life’s uncertainty, striking a balance between calm introspection and moments of emotional intensity. What began as a stripped-down folk composition evolved through production into a more expansive indie arrangement, setting the sonic and thematic tone for Wylder’s next full-length release. The song focuses on surrendering control, recognizing internal and external turbulence, and learning when to step aside and let things move forward.
Wylder shares:
“Growing up on an island meant respecting the ocean. Although the water had always symbolized calm for me, I knew to never underestimate it. There was an understanding that you could never trust the ocean ,but that didn’t mean you couldn’t have faith in it. Once you get out of its way, it is a lot easier. “I wrote this song in the summer of 2024. I remember starting in a completely different key and tuning. It was so much more complicated then it needed to be so I dumbed it down to just a simple 4 chord pattern. If I recall correctly, the lyrics came pretty naturally for me and ironically flowed like the ocean. At this point it was just a little folk ballad and I really thought that’s all it would be. Little did I know that once I brought it to my producer, Max Frazer, it would be completely transformed into an epic indie banger. This song became the inspiration for my upcoming album. Or at least, the first step in album territory. Whether that be the shitty thoughts in your head, the guy who cut you off in traffic, the state of the world, you name it. Ultimately, life is like the ocean and we cannot control the current.”
‘Rolling Tide’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
