Chicago band This House is Creaking releases their new single ‘Something Else,’ delivering the latest entry in their evolving noise-pop catalog. The track arrives independently and follows their recent 2025 album I Want To Feel At Home Here, out now via the band.

On ‘Something Else,’ the group leans into scuzzy, glitched-out textures while pairing angular guitar work with introspective lyrical themes. The single shifts between bubbling, nebulous passages and sharp, cathartic bursts, underscoring the band’s inventive approach to sound design. Its noisy intensity is balanced by a playful structure that keeps the track in constant motion, while the confessional tone at its core aligns with the band’s signature contrast of vulnerability and experimentation.

This House is Creaking says:

“This is a song about accepting mediocrity in the face of failure, even when you cannot figure out why it is you’ve failed, and trying to fix things that seem to have broken without understanding how they broke in the first place. It’s a funny song we made with our friends Peter Schultze and Hunter Borowick from Tuff Sudz.”

This House is Creaking will support DIIV at the Tomorrow Never Knows Festival on January 17 at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. Additional January dates include a performance at the Ground Control Touring Presents 4th Annual Abortion Access Benefit Series at the Empty Bottle on January 24. The band also closes out 2025 with shows in Bloomington, Detroit, and Chicago supporting Delaney Bailey.

‘Something Else’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
