Emerging artist runo plum unveils her new single ‘Halfway Up The Lawn,’ offering a poignant glimpse of her debut album patching, arriving November 14 via Winspear.

‘Halfway Up The Lawn’ explores the desperation and chaos of a breakup, with runo’s voice weaving through hypnotic instrumentation. The track reveals the yearning and mental hang-ups of broken communication, balancing acceptance with resistance. Following her late August single ‘sickness,’ this track deepens the album’s emotional landscape.

Describing the track, runo shares:

“This song is about when you get broken up with and you aren’t on speaking terms with that person anymore. It makes you feel so insane, you want to scream, you’re checking socials, waiting for a text, desperately waiting for literally any sign of life. I imagine myself pathetically sitting outside of their house waiting for them to get home, but–nothing. The line “I don’t wanna watch you turn green, but I will” is ultimately about accepting that they have moved on. We ended up using my demo guitar solo for this one, which is so funny because it’s sort of a mess but it ended up fitting perfectly with the chaos in the theme.”

The upcoming album patching, produced with Winspear labelmate Lutalo, explores metamorphosis, repair, and transformation across twelve tracks. With songs like ‘Lemon Garland,’ ‘Be Gentle With Me,’ and ‘Gathering The Pieces,’ runo creates a scrapbook of personal experiences, reflecting both highs and lows of a formative chapter.

‘Halfway Up The Lawn’ stands as an achingly honest reflection of heartbreak, setting the stage for an album that promises to capture fragility and resilience in equal measure.
