Of Monsters and Men announce new album with ‘Ordinary Creature’

Of Monsters and Men make a graceful return today with ‘Ordinary Creature,’ their first release in over two years and the lead single from their newly announced album All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade, due October 17.
Written on a summer night in Iceland and recorded in their home studio, ‘Ordinary Creature’ reflects the introspective, emotionally rich textures that have defined the band’s sound over the years. The track blends warmth with melancholy, driven by a quiet sense of renewal and a yearning for comfort.
The song arrives with an evocative visual, directed by Erlendur Sveinsson, which follows the band during a summer night and early morning in the quiet coastal town of Selvogur. The imagery mirrors the song’s emotional pull—a serene journey through reflection, recovery, and self-discovery.
“‘Ordinary Creature’ is about the feeling of yearning for that someone that brings you comfort. It’s about when you start feeling better after a period of not feeling so great. That moment when you start coming back to yourself again and remembering what it’s like to be an ordinary creature.”
‘Ordinary Creature’ is out now. All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade, their first full-length album in six years, is set for release on October 17th.
