‘Dominoes’ arrives as the first taste of Twin Shadow’s next chapter

Twin Shadow has returned with ‘Dominoes,’ a radiant and emotionally charged single that introduces his forthcoming seventh studio album, CADET, due later this year via Dom Recs.
Produced alongside longtime collaborator Blackpaw, ‘Dominoes’ marks a vibrant shift in tone from the raw, intimate textures of his previous album Georgie, released earlier this year. Where Georgie reflected on grief and memory, ‘Dominoes’ feels more outward-facing, built on lively drum programming, bright synths, and the unmistakable chemistry between two friends deep in their creative flow.
“‘Dominoes’ is a reflection on vulnerability, distance, and devotion. The chorus sings: If my heart is an ocean / it’s totally blue = I’m all in.”
As anticipation builds for CADET, fans can catch Twin Shadow performing across California later this month. He’ll be playing shows in San Francisco (The Chapel, August 27), Santa Cruz (Moe’s Alley, August 28), Santa Barbara (SoHo Music Club, August 29), and Pioneertown (Pappy & Harriet’s, August 30).
