Blush finds beauty in the brutal on new album Beauty Fades, Pain Lasts Forever
Singaporean indie-pop outfit Blush returns with their second full-length album, Beauty Fades, Pain Lasts Forever—a record that dives headfirst into heartbreak, uncertainty, and catharsis.

After 2023’s Supercrush, the band reunited with longtime members Soffi Peters (vocals) and Daniel Pei (bass), brought in guitarist Darell Laser, and once again teamed up with producer Jared Lim. The result is a record overflowing with hook-filled songs that stretch into swirling, textured dreamscapes.
The album first surfaced with June’s jangly lead single, ‘X My Heart,’ a lovesick anthem that sets the tone for what follows. Throughout BFPLF, the band leans into emotional extremes (‘Poison The Well’ and ‘forget-me-not’). Sweet, airy melodies often clash with distortion and unease, creating a constant sense of push and pull throughout.
Closing track ‘Swallowing 999999 Needles’ is Blush at their most unfiltered. Laser’s tortured vocals tear through a wall of noise, ending the album on a visceral note that breaks away from any dream-pop comfort the earlier tracks might have suggested.
Beauty Fades, Pain Lasts Forever stands out not just for its melodic sensibility, but for the way it embraces the unpredictable—the shadows, the feedback, the sudden turns. Blush manages to be both tender and jarring, polished and raw, sometimes all at once.
It’s a confident leap forward, and one that shows just how far the band is willing to go to capture what it feels like to feel everything.
