Vines craft ethereal debut I’ll be here for ambient music enthusiasts

New York-based multi-instrumentalist Cassie Wieland delivers a deeply resonant and cinematically expansive debut album under her Vines moniker.
Produced by: Mike Tierney and Cassie Wieland
Released on July 18th as an independent release, I’ll be here showcases Wieland’s celestial blend of synths, percussion, strings, and vocoded vocals that feels grandly cinematic in scope. Throughout the album, Wieland explores themes of anxiety, loneliness, and navigating human connection while learning to grow up from a young age, ultimately reaching a place of acceptance.
What began as a journal written in solitude has evolved into a collaborative effort shaped by longtime partners and fellow musicians. Co-produced with Mike Tierney, the album includes longtime collaborators Adam Holmes (percussionist) and Adrianne Munden-Dixon (violinist). The ensemble is rounded out by cellist Helen Newby, saxophonists Julian Velasco and Jordan Lulloff, and bassist Pat Swoboda, whose collective contributions create rich arrangements that transcend typical solo ambient recordings.
Vines will celebrate the album’s release with a performance at NYC’s Berlin on July 24th, featuring special guests Holland Andrews and Phong Tran. The artist is also confirmed for this year’s Basilica SoundScape festival, suggesting growing recognition within the experimental music community.
I’ll be here succeeds as both an accomplished debut and a mature artistic statement, offering music that functions equally well as background atmosphere and focused listening—no small feat in the ambient genre. Wieland has created a compelling entry point into her world of celestial introspection that feels particularly relevant for our current cultural moment.
