Somebody’s Child shares new single ‘Last Night I Held Your Hand’

Dublin-based band Somebody’s Child has unveiled ‘Last Night I Held Your Hand,’ the second single from their forthcoming album, When Youth Fades Away.
‘Last Night I Held Your Hand’ pairs the band’s signature euphoric choruses with a tinge of Americana swagger, blending lyricism with powerful melodies. Lines like “And I thought my youth was over / Now I’d die for you / Now I feel myself get older / But not when I’m with you” capture the album’s exploration of aging and shifting perspectives, while also embracing the beauty of emotional connection.
Frontman Cian Godfrey shared insight into the track’s creation:
“‘Last Night I Held Your Hand’ was the first song that came out in the writing process for this album. We wrote it during an autumn-turned-winter trip to Western Wales, and it marked the beginning of a sound that would ultimately define the album. It carries a sense of innocence from earlier releases, yet breathes new life into the direction this album has taken.”
‘Last Night I Held Your Hand’ is out now. Their highly anticipated sophomore release is due out on March 28 via Frenchkiss Records.
