3 New Albums Out this week you Should Listen to Now: Mac Miller, Heart & Lung, and Remi Wolf
Mac Miller – Faces
Faces is new… well, sort of. Originally released in 2014, the legendary mixtape has finally reached streaming services. The album is a thought-provoking listen even though we know the outcome. It is a look into his life, most notably his relationship with drugs and his own feelings. Colin Stutz of Billboard wrote that the 24-track mixtape “shows [Miller] introspective, ruminating over his drug use, fame, and past.” The album employs guest verses from the who’s who of rap: ScHoolboy Q, Sir Michael Rocks, Earl Sweatshirt, Rick Ross, Mick Jones, Vince Staples, and Da$h. Mac Miller says it best himself, “Faces actually started forming in my blanket; got some demons in there.”

Heart & Lung – Twistin’ The Knife Away
Cleveland punks Heart & Lung have released a new album, Twistin’ The Knife Away, via Red Scare Industries. It’s an album where the 90s punk sound thrives. They’re a group of long-term friends, playing for the love of playing and continuing to laugh through the blows life deals them. And it shows. They’ve even tried to dispose of the “midwest band” moniker, but given their songs are filled with rustbelt bleakness, that mentality will be hard to shake.

Remi Wolf – Juno
Remi Wolf may feel like she comes at you with reckless abandon on Juno, but don’t be fooled. The album is a calculated affair that flows through upbeat, hook-driven tracks that will take you down a path only Remi could have planned out. Tracks like ‘Anthony Kiedis’ (yes, that Anthony Kiedis) are quick, feel-good explosions that make you want to get up out of your chair. Expect heavy harmonies and poppy electronica throughout. This album deserves your full attention. So throw yourself into the experience. You won’t regret it.
