3 New Albums Out This Week You Should Listen to Now: Jessica Boudreaux, Denzel Curry, and Childish Gambino
There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.
This week we’re highlighting new music from Jessica Boudreaux, Denzel Curry, and Childish Gambino.
Jessica Boudreaux – The Faster I Run
When Summer Cannibals disbanded in March 2023, frontwoman Jessica Boudreaux had no plans for a solo career. After leading the Portland-based indie rock band for a decade, she turned her focus to writing songs for film and television and built her own studio, Pet Club. However, after a breast cancer diagnosis in November 2020 and subsequent remission by summer 2023, Boudreaux experienced a renewed zest for life following a transformative rafting trip with young adult cancer survivors. This newfound energy led her to create The Faster I Run, her solo debut album released on July 19, 2024. The album features 12 rock songs that reflect her personal growth and healing process. Self-produced and recorded at Pet Club Studio, with contributions from Ricardo Lagamasino on drums and Cass Blum on bass for select tracks, the album was mixed by Joe Reinhart and mastered by Adam Gonsalves.
Standout Songs: Back Then, Be Somebody Else, Suffering

Denzel Curry – King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
Denzel Curry returns with King Of The Mischievous South Vol 2, fully embracing his “Big Ultra” persona. This eagerly anticipated album fuses sounds from the South’s hip-hop heritage, featuring 90’s inspired beats that pay homage to Memphis and iconic groups like Three 6 Mafia. With contributions from artists like Project Pat, A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, and Juicy J, the album reflects on Curry’s career and mends past relationships. Diverging from his usual concept-driven albums, it showcases Curry’s exceptional rap skills and spontaneous creativity.
Standout Songs: ULTRA SHXT (with Key Nyata), HOT ONE (with TiaCorine & A$AP Ferg), BLACK FLAG FREESTYLE (with That Mexican OT), COLE PIMP (with Ty Dolla $ign and Juicy J), HOODLUMZ (with PlayThatBoiZay & A$AP Rocky)

Childish Gambino – Bando Stone and The New World
Throughout Donald Glover’s multifaceted career, Childish Gambino has been the alias for his musical projects. Now, with a mix of nostalgia and closure, he has announced that Bando Stone and the New World will be the final Childish Gambino album. This soundtrack, which precedes a feature-length film, includes apocalyptic-themed dialogue to stimulate listeners’ imaginations. The album’s 17 tracks blend diverse styles, from industrial dancehall to post-EDM, creating a unified sound. Personal touches, such as the duet ‘Can You Feel Me’ with his son Legend, and collaborations with artists like Flo Milli, Fousheé, and Yeat, enrich the album.
Standout Songs: Lithonia, Talk My Shit (feat. Amaarae & Flo Milli), In The Night (feat. Jorja Smith & Amaarae)
