3 New Albums Out This Week You Should Listen to Now: Little Simz, Turnstile, and Pulp

There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.
This week we’re highlighting new music from Little Simz, Turnstile, and Pulp.
Little Simz – Lotus
Little Simz’s Lotus is a powerful comeback born from personal and creative turmoil. Following a legal dispute with longtime collaborator Inflo, Simz scrapped their unfinished album and started fresh with producer Miles Clinton James. The result is a raw, introspective record that blends pain and growth, with standout tracks like ‘Thief,’ ‘Flood,’ and the uplifting ‘Free.’ Featuring guests like Obongjayar and Sampha, Lotus marks a bold new chapter in Simz’s evolving artistry. 🌸
Standout Songs: ‘Flood,’ ‘Young,’ ‘Free,’ and ‘Lion.’

Turnstile – NEVER ENOUGH
Turnstile’s fourth studio album, NEVER ENOUGH, marks a bold continuation of the band’s genre-blurring evolution. Released via Roadrunner Records, the album follows 2021’s acclaimed Glow On and features a more expansive, melodic sound that pushes beyond the band’s hardcore roots. Produced by frontman Brendan Yates alongside Will Yip and A.G. Cook, the record includes contributions from artists like Dev Hynes, Hayley Williams, and Faye Webster. Though it’s their first release without founding guitarist Brady Ebert, NEVER ENOUGH forges ahead with cinematic flair, including a visual album that debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Standout Songs: ‘NEVER ENOUGH,’ ‘I CARE,’ ‘LOOK OUT FOR ME,’ ‘SEEIN’ STARS,’ and ‘BIRDS.’

Pulp – More
Pulp’s More marks a triumphant return after 24 years, showcasing a band that hasn’t lost any of its wit, charm, or emotional intelligence. Sparked by the energy of their 2024 reunion tour, the album came together swiftly with fresh material and a renewed sense of urgency. Produced by James Ford, More balances dance floor swagger and orchestral grace, capturing the band’s blend of cynicism and sensitivity. With tracks like ‘Hymn of the North’ and the biting ‘Grown Ups,’ the album reflects on aging, loss, and love without losing the sly observational flair that made Pulp icons in the first place.
Standout Songs: ‘Spike Island,’ ‘Tina,’ ‘Got To Have Love,’ and ‘Background Noise.’
