There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.

This week we’re highlighting new music from Sparks, MSPaint, and Stereolab.

Sparks – MAD!

MAD! is the 26th studio album by legendary pop duo Sparks, released May 23, 2025, via Transgressive Records. Following a string of critically acclaimed and charting albums, MAD! finds Ron and Russell Mael as sharp and singular as ever, blending their theatrical flair, incisive wit, and melodic precision into a set of songs that skewers modern absurdities with humor and heart. Written and recorded in just six months after their world tour, the album features five singles—’Do Things My Own Way,’ ‘JanSport Backpack,’ ‘Drowned in a Sea of Tears,’ ‘My Devotion,’ and ‘A Little Bit of Light Banter’—each showcasing Sparks’ continued evolution while maintaining the duo’s unmistakable DNA. Produced and engineered entirely by the Mael brothers, MAD! is both a testament to their timeless creativity and a fresh entry into their ever-inventive canon.

Standout Songs: ‘Do Things My Way,’ ‘Running Up A Tab At The Hotel For The Fab,’ ‘My Devotion,’ and ‘Drowned In A Sea Of Tears.’
