There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.

This week we’re highlighting new music from Bon Iver, Ribbon Skirt, and Bedridden.

Bon Iver – SABLE, fABLE

SABLE, fABLE, the fifth studio album by Bon Iver, was released on April 11, 2025, via Jagjaguwar. Expanding on last year’s SABLE EP, the full record unveils a vibrant mix of funk-infused rock and lush, radiant pop. Co-produced by Justin Vernon and Jim-E Stack, and featuring guests like Dijon, Flock of Dimes, and Danielle Haim, it marks Bon Iver’s first album since 2019’s i,i.

Standout Songs: ‘THINGS BEHIND THINGS BEHIND THINGS,’ ‘S P E Y S I D E,’ ‘AWARDS SEASON,’ ‘Everything Is Peaceful Love,’ ‘Walk Home,’ and ‘If Only I Could Wait.’

Ribbon Skirt – Bite Down

Ribbon Skirt’s debut album Bite Down, via Mint Records, is a powerful musical expression of Anishinaabe identity, resilience, and reclamation. Led by Tashiina Buswa, the rising indie rock band weaves a vibrant and emotional tapestry that reflects the complexity of living as Anishinaabe in a contemporary settler state—where grief, healing, and strength coexist. As described in the press release, Bite Down is “an offering of tobacco to a sacred fire,” a deeply ceremonial and affirming work that reclaims story, space, and sound.

Standout Songs: ‘Cellophane,’ ‘Wrong Planet,’ ‘Cut,’ and ‘Look What You Did.’

Bedridden – Moths Strapped To Each Other’s Backs

Bedridden’s debut album, Moths Strapped To Each Other’s Backs, out now via Julia’s War Recordings, is a raw and chaotic dive into survival, toxic relationships, and growing up too fast. Frontman Jack Riley describes the record as “by far the most fleshed out project any of us have been a part of.” Produced by Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma), the ten-track LP blends shoegaze, punk, and ‘90s alt-rock into a visceral sound that swings between bruised vulnerability and righteous anger. ”I feel like this album sums up my failure to trust myself and others over the last two years,” Riley says. “And now that it’s out, I can finally leave some of the negativity behind.”

Standout Songs: ‘Etch,’ ‘Chainsaw,’ and ‘Uno.’
