3 New Albums Out This Week You Should Listen to Now: Daniela Andrade, War Child Records, and Swirls

There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.
This week we’re highlighting new music from Daniela Andrade, War Child Records, and Swirls.
Daniela Andrade – Oda
Oda is the debut album by Honduran-Canadian singer-songwriter Daniela Andrade, released March 6, 2026, via Crooked Lid Records. Built around five years of voice notes exchanged with her mother, the 33-minute record explores empathy, love, and difficult conversations through a deeply personal lens. Written by Andrade and recorded across homes and studios in Toronto, the project blends intimate songwriting with subtle jazz and electronic touches, including the single ‘i see red,’ which incorporates a voice message from her mother reflecting on love and anger in relationships.
Standout Songs: ‘madre,’ ‘cohete,’ ‘i see red,’ ‘fantasmagoria,’ and ‘oda.’

HELP(2) is a collaborative charity album released March 6, 2026, via War Child Records, inspired by the landmark 1995 HELP compilation. Recorded largely during a week-long session at Abbey Road Studios in November 2025 and executive produced by James Ford, the project features contributions from a wide range of artists—including Arctic Monkeys, Olivia Rodrigo, Beck, Sampha, Fontaines D.C., and Big Thief—while filmmaker Jonathan Glazer served as creative director. All proceeds support War Child UK’s efforts to provide aid, education, and mental health support for children affected by conflict.

Swirls – Surge
French slacker-punk band Swirls return with Surge, their second album on Howlin’ Banana Records and À Tant Rêver du Roi. Formed in Nantes in 2022, the quartet blends the scrappy energy of Australian garage-punk acts like The Chats and Drunk Mums with indie influences such as Parquet Courts and The Strokes. Following their 2024 debut Top of the Line, Surge sharpens their raw, spontaneous sound while exploring burnout, anxiety, sleepless nights, and love through sarcastic humor and punchy riffs—capturing the chaotic push and pull between exhaustion and adrenaline.
Standout Songs: ‘Short Fuse,’ ‘Neverland,’ ‘Currents,’ and ‘Powerstation.’
